1. **Subject of the dispute:**
The subject of the proceedings was the approval of a plea agreement between the prosecutor and the defendant, who participated in a criminal organization that implemented corruption schemes during public procurement for state coal mining enterprises.
2. **Court arguments:**
* The court established that the agreement fully complies with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine: it was concluded voluntarily, with the participation of a defense attorney, and the defendant is aware of the consequences of its approval.
* The court recognized that the approval of the agreement is in the public interest, as the defendant undertook to cooperate with the investigation, provide incriminating testimony against other members of the criminal organization, and compensate for a portion of the damages caused.
* An important argument was procedural economy and efficiency: entering into the agreement allows for avoiding a lengthy trial of a multi-episode case (76 episodes) and contributes to establishing the objective truth regarding other figures in the case.
* The court took into account the defendant’s personality (a pensioner, previously unconvicted), the circumstances of the commission of the crime (dependence on the leaders of the organization, regional specifics), and sincere remorse, which provided grounds for applying a suspended sentence.

3. **Court decision:**
The court ruled to approve the plea agreement, sentencing the defendant to a final term of 7 years of imprisonment with a deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for 3 years, but suspended the main sentence, establishing a probationary period of 3 years.
