On making an amendment to the Regulation on the organization of testing the level of physical fitness of candidates for admission to service in the National Police of Ukraine

This Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs introduces amendments to the procedure for selecting candidates for service in the National Police of Ukraine. The core essence of the document lies in exempting specific categories of persons from mandatory physical fitness testing. This simplifies the recruitment process for individuals defined by law who have expressed a corresponding desire to serve.

    **Structure and Amendments:**
The Order has a concise structure: it consists of an administrative part, which introduces additions to the current Regulation (Ministry of Internal Affairs Order No. 90 dated February 9, 2016), and technical clauses regarding registration and entry into force. The main amendment consists of supplementing Section I of the Regulation with a new paragraph 5, which establishes an exception to the general rule of physical fitness testing. Previously, passing such an assessment was mandatory for all candidates without exception; now, a clear basis for exemption has been introduced.

    **Important Provisions:**
A key aspect is that the exemption from physical fitness testing applies exclusively to candidates defined by the second paragraph of Part 1 of Article 50 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police.” These are individuals who possess relevant professional experience or belong to categories provided by law for simplified admission. An important condition for applying this provision is the existence of the candidate’s own volition — they must personally express a desire to enter the police service. The Order enters into force on the day of its official publication.
