On the Application of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)

Good day! Here is a brief overview of the NSDC decision on the application of sanctions:

    1. **Substance of the decision:** The NSDC decision, enacted by the Presidential Decree, provides for the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against individuals and legal entities identified in the annexes to the decision. This decision is the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”.

    2. **Structure and main provisions:** The decision consists of four points and two annexes.
    * The first point supports the proposals of the SSU regarding the application of sanctions.
    * The second point directly enacts sanctions against individuals and legal entities, the list of which is contained in Annexes 1 and 2, respectively.
    * The third point assigns the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the SSU, the NBU, and the Commission on State Awards and Heraldry the duty to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of these sanctions.
    * The fourth point obliges the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to inform international bodies about the application of sanctions and to initiate the introduction of similar measures on their part.

    3. **Important provisions for use:** The most important for practical application are Annexes 1 and 2, as they contain specific lists of individuals and legal entities to whom sanctions are applied. Also important is point 3, which identifies the bodies responsible for the implementation and monitoring of sanctions, as they ensure the implementation of the decision in practice.
