**On Amendments to the Regulation on Military Service by Citizens of Ukraine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine**

2. **Structure and main provisions:**
* The decree amends subparagraph 7 of paragraph 50 and subparagraph 6 of paragraph 51 of the Regulations, clarifying the requirements for military personnel and citizens with higher education in the medical, pharmaceutical, psychological and rehabilitation fields for appointment to officer positions.
* A new paragraph 83-1 is introduced, which prohibits the appointment of persons with relevant higher education to positions not related to their specialty or to positions requiring a lower level of education.
* Key changes concern the possibility of appointing persons with education in the field of psychology, rehabilitation (including prosthetics-orthotics) and medical diagnostics and treatment technologies to officer positions, taking into account the need for such specialists.

3. **The most important provisions for use:**
* Military personnel and citizens with medical, pharmaceutical, psychological and rehabilitation education should be appointed to positions that correspond to their specialty and level of qualification.
* Persons with relevant education may not be appointed to positions that are not related to the provision of medical, pharmaceutical, psychological or rehabilitation assistance, or to positions that require lower qualifications, unless they themselves express such a desire.
* The decree promotes more efficient use of specialists with higher education in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is especially important in the conditions of martial law.
