Essence of the Law:
The resolution introduces an experimental project for providing state aid for education to children of Ukraine’s defenders. The state fully covers the cost of education in professional pre-higher and higher education institutions for children of fallen defenders, children of veterans with disabilities, combat participants, and other specified categories. The project will be implemented over 1.5 years.
Structure and Main Provisions:
1. Defined mechanism for providing assistance through the Diia Portal
2. Established 6 categories of aid recipients (children of fallen defenders, children of veterans with disabilities, etc.)
3. Aid is provided to individuals up to 23 years old
4. Full cost of education is covered for all forms of education
5. Changes made to the procedure for using budget funds to support veterans
Key Provisions for Use:
– Assistance is provided through a certificate in Diia, which must be confirmed within 20 days
– Educational institutions must sign a contract with the Ministry of Veterans for project participation
– Clear procedure established for interaction between the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Veterans, and educational institutions
– Provision for returning funds in case of student expulsion
– Grounds defined for canceling the decision to provide assistance
