Review of Ukrainian legislation for 22/06/2026 – 29/06/2026

    Legislation Digest

CMU Resolution No. 792: Social Protection for Families of Law Enforcement Officers

The Government has introduced an automated mechanism for the issuance and cancellation of certificates for family members of police officers and State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) personnel who have died, passed away, or gone missing while performing their duties. The document provides for electronic interaction between registries, which eliminates the need to submit paper certificates. The status is not granted in the event of death resulting from one’s own unlawful conduct, suicide, or voluntary surrender.

CMU Resolution No. 800: Unified Portal for Enemy Equipment Analysis

An official web portal, trophylab.mod.gov.ua, has been created to systematize data on the study of captured enemy equipment for the purpose of further developing the defense industry. Manufacturers and research institutions are required to report research results within 10 business days; otherwise, access to the system shall be blocked. Registration on the portal is prohibited for companies that have ties to the aggressor state or are subject to sanctions.

CMU Order No. 609-r: Integration into the OECD

The Government has approved a request to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) regarding Ukraine’s accession to the international Recommendation on the Licensing of Genetic Inventions. This strategic decision is aimed at aligning Ukraine’s patent legislation with the standards of the world’s developed economies. It is expected that this step will ensure a balance between the protection of inventors’ rights and access to innovation in the medical and agricultural sectors.

CMU Resolution No. 799: New Rules for Electricity Sales

State-owned producers, such as Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo, are now required to sell a portion of their resources through special “take or pay” auctions. Buyers bear commercial risks and must confirm the intended use of the electricity to the transmission system operator. To participate in the auction, financial guarantees of up to 15% of the lot value have been introduced, which are automatically credited as advance payments.
