This resolution amends the existing procedure for the appointment and payment of a monthly cash payment to certain categories of citizens, namely, persons awarded the President of Ukraine’s distinction “Cross of Combat Merit.” It stipulates that such persons are entitled to a monthly payment, starting from the date of entry into force of the relevant law, or from the date of awarding the distinction, if it occurred later.
Structurally, the resolution consists of two main parts: amendments to the Procedure for the appointment and payment of a monthly cash payment and the establishment of the start date of payments for those awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit.” The changes concern the expansion of the list of persons entitled to payment, the inclusion of the “Cross of Combat Merit” in the list of awards that entitle to payment, and clarification of the list of documents required for the appointment of payment. It also provides for the possibility of confirming the necessary documents with information from the Unified State Register of War Veterans through electronic interaction.
The most important provision is that persons awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” are now entitled to a monthly cash payment, and the mechanism for implementing this right is defined, including the date of commencement of payments and the method of confirming the necessary documents.
