It is important to note that the NBU is not obliged to buy or sell these metals at these accounting prices; they serve only as an indicator of market value.

The National Bank of Ukraine daily establishes the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against foreign currencies and SDRs. These rates are used for reflection in accounting records, as well as for NBU’s transactions with the State Treasury Service of Ukraine. The NBU is not obliged to conduct currency purchase and sale transactions at the established official exchange rate.
