This law amends the Law of Ukraine “On the National Agency of Ukraine for Identification, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes.” It is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of ARMA and improving the mechanisms of management of assets derived from crime.
The structure of the law provides for amendments to the current law on ARMA. The main provisions concern the expansion of the Agency’s powers, optimization of asset management processes and strengthening control over ARMA’s activities. The changes are aimed at increasing the efficiency of ARMA in the field of identification, tracing and management of assets.
The most important provisions of this law are those concerning the expansion of ARMA’s powers in the field of asset management, as well as strengthening the mechanisms of control over the agency’s activities. This may significantly affect the effectiveness of the return of assets derived from crime and the prevention of corruption.
