1. **Essence of the Law:** The Law amends Article 16-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Members of Their Families,” clarifying the circle of persons who are considered dependents of a deceased (dead) person and are entitled to benefits and social protection. Now, such dependents include those who are entitled to a pension due to the loss of a breadwinner in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Pension Provision for Persons Dismissed from Military Service, and Some Other Persons.”

Section I amends directly Article 16-1 of the Law “On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Members of Their Families.” Section II contains final provisions that define the terms of entry into force of the law and the obligation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to bring its regulatory legal acts into compliance with this Law.
