Review of the EU legislation for 27/01/2025 – 03/02/2025

Feed Additives and Food Safety:

  • Authorization of L-tryptophan produced by E. coli CGMCC 7.460 for all animal species with 98% minimum purity
  • Renewal of authorization for Limosilactobacillus fermentum for all animals until 2035
  • Technical correction to riboflavin 5′-phosphate monosodium salt formula
  • Sodium bisulphate authorization maintained for aquatic animals until September 2025

Trade and Economic Measures:

  • Removal of Kenya from EU’s GSP beneficiary list from January 2027
  • Establishment of Ukraine Facility scoreboard system tracking reforms and investments until 2027
  • Mandatory Whole Genome Sequencing for food-borne pathogens from August 2026

Technical Amendments:

  • Adjustment of feed additive specifications for acetic acid, sodium diacetate, calcium acetate
  • Increase in maximum nonanoic acid content from 5 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg for certain animals
  • Authorization of enzyme preparation containing xylanase, subtilisin, and alpha-amylase for poultry
