This law is aimed at strengthening the protection of labor rights of persons with disabilities and their integration into the labor market. It introduces amendments to the Labor Code of Ukraine and the Law “On the Fundamentals of Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine”.
Structurally, the law consists of two main blocks of changes:
1. Amendments to the Labor Code of Ukraine regarding the prohibition of discrimination based on disability in employment and the exercise of labor rights
2. Amendments to the special law on social protection of persons with disabilities concerning employment quotas and creation of special workplaces
Key innovations:
– Strengthening the responsibility of employers for non-compliance with the standard of workplaces for employment of persons with disabilities
– Introduction of a mechanism to stimulate employers who create workplaces for persons with disabilities beyond the established quota
– Detailing requirements for reasonable workplace adaptation to the needs of employees with disabilities
– Expansion of the list of guarantees for employment and job retention for persons with disabilities
