Order Amending the Instruction on Border Patrol Service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, introducing a new type of border patrol – Mobile Fire Group (MFG) and clarifying the procedure for border guards’ actions while performing official duties.
Structurally, changes are being made to Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of Section II of the Instruction. Provisions have been added regarding the border patrol’s readiness for sudden aggressive actions by offenders, and requirements for maintaining communication between border patrols have been clarified.
Key innovations concerning the Mobile Fire Group (MFG):
• MFG consists of three or more border guards
• Primary task is detection and fire suppression of enemy unmanned aerial/surface vessels, guided and unguided ammunition
• The group can operate both at designated positions and through patrolling
• Detailed responsibilities of the senior patrol and group regarding organizing observation, determining fire sectors, procedures for opening fire, and interaction are precisely outlined
