Law Expands Grounds for Dismissal of Military Personnel during Martial Law in Case of Death or Disappearance of Close Relatives

The law expands the grounds for dismissing military personnel from military service during martial law in the event of death or disappearance of their close relatives. Now, the right to dismissal extends not only to cases of death of full-blood siblings but also half-siblings.

The law is structurally composed of two sections: the first introduces amendments to Article 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”, the second contains final provisions regarding the entry into force and implementation of the law.

Key provisions:
– Supplementing paragraphs 16 and 17 of paragraph 3 of part 12 of Article 26 with the word “half-blood”
– Entry into force the day following publication
– Obligation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to bring the regulatory framework in line with the changes within 10 days
