On Amendments to the Instruction on the Application of the Chart of Accounts for Accounting of Assets, Capital, Liabilities, and Business Operations of Enterprises and Organizations

Order Amending the Instruction on the Application of the Chart of Accounts for Accounting, Expanding and Clarifying the Accounting Rules for Certain Transactions. The Main Changes Relate to the Accounting of Client Funds in Inactive Accounts and Clarification of Provisions Regarding Assets Held for Sale or Distribution.

Structurally, the order introduces amendments to three accounts:

– Account 28 ‘Goods’ – added clarification regarding distribution assets;
– Account 67 ‘Settlements with Participants and Client Funds’ – introduced a new subaccount 676 for accounting of funds from inactive accounts;
– Account 68 ‘Settlements for Other Operations’ – clarified wording regarding the accounting of liabilities related to non-current assets.

Key Innovations:

– Introduced a new subaccount 676 for accounting of client funds in inactive accounts for financial service providers;
– Established the procedure for reflecting operations by credit and debit of the new subaccount;
– Expanded the possibilities of accounting for assets held not only for sale but also for distribution.
