Resolution concerns the adoption of a draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Judicial System and Status of Judges” in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Jury Trial”.
Structurally, the resolution consists of two points: the first is about adopting draft law No. 3844 as a basis, the second is to instruct the relevant Committee to finalize the draft law for the second reading, taking into account proposals and amendments.
The key point is that this draft law is intended to harmonize the provisions of the basic law on judicial system with the new law on jury trial, which indicates systemic changes in the organization of Ukraine’s judicial system and the expansion of citizens’ participation in the administration of justice.
