**On Amendments to the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 569 of May 29, 2017**

This order introduces changes to the existing procedure for the distribution of medical devices for coronary artery stenting, purchased at public expense. It expands the list of recipients of these devices, and also changes the formula for calculating the need for them.

**Structure and main provisions of the order:**

1. **Amendments to Order No. 569:**
* The name of the order has been changed to include the State Management of Affairs, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the list of recipients of medical devices.
* It is clarified that the distribution of products is carried out among the above-mentioned bodies and institutions.
* The Minister of Health of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, heads of structural subdivisions on health care of regional, Kyiv and Sevastopol city state administrations, heads of the State Management of Affairs, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine shall ensure the continuous distribution of medical devices for coronary artery stenting, purchased at the expense of the state budget, for the needs of health care facilities that have agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) and provide assistance for myocardial infarction with stenting.
2. **Changes to the Procedure for Calculating Needs and Distribution:**
* The name of the Procedure has been brought into line with the changes in the name of the Order.
* The list of institutions among which the distribution of products is carried out has been clarified.
* The formula for calculating the need for products has been updated, taking into account the planned number of stents according to agreements with the NHSU and product balances.
* Products should be used exclusively to provide emergency care to patients with acute myocardial infarction and recurrent myocardial infarction.
* Amendments have been made to the appendices to the Procedure.

**The most important provisions for use:**

* Expansion of the list of institutions that can receive medical devices for stenting, which potentially increases the availability of assistance for patients.
* Accounting for the planned number of stents under agreements with the NHSU when calculating the need, which should contribute to a more accurate distribution of products.
* Clear definition of the purpose of use of products – only for emergency care in myocardial infarctions.
