Organic Wine Production Changes

New regulation allows de-alcoholisation methods for organic wines including vacuum distillation and partial vacuum evaporation. Sets technical parameters: maximum 75°C temperature, minimum 0.2 micrometer filtration, and final alcohol content under 0.5%. Methods can be used separately or combined while maintaining organic standards.

Syria Sanctions Updates

Regulation modifies EU sanctions against Syria by suspending various sectoral restrictions and introducing humanitarian exemptions. Removes trade, financial and transport measures while maintaining certain targeted restrictions. Allows broader humanitarian aid delivery through UN agencies and humanitarian organizations.

Sudan Sanctions Changes

Removes two individuals – Abdulrahman Juma Barakallah and Osman Mohamed Hamid – from EU sanctions list regarding Sudan, following UN Security Council Committee decisions.

Syria Financial Entities Delisting

Removes six financial and aviation entities from Syria sanctions while maintaining asset freeze for Central Bank of Syria. Delisted entities include Industrial Bank, Popular Credit Bank, Saving Bank, Agricultural Cooperative Bank, and Syrian Arab Airlines.

Belarus Sanctions Update

Updates information for 10 individuals and two entities (MAZ and Belshina), removes two entries, extends measures until February 2026. Provides new details about MAZ’s military truck supplies to Russia and Belshina’s role in providing tires to Russian military.

Patent Jurisdiction Ruling

Court clarifies that EU courts maintain jurisdiction in patent infringement cases even when validity is challenged, though validity issues must be decided by courts of the state that granted the patent. For non-EU patents, EU courts can examine validity as defense.

Digital Platform Competition Rules

Establishes new principles for digital platforms under EU competition law, particularly regarding platform interoperability. Introduces more flexible approach for digital platform access and sets requirements for template development.

Judicial Remuneration Standards

Sets requirements for determining judges’ pay: must be provided by law, be objective and transparent, and ensure remuneration commensurate with judicial functions.

EU-US Satellite Agreement

Establishes security procedures for launching European Galileo satellites from US facilities, including access protocols, data protection measures, and technical requirements.

EU-Ukraine Tachograph Decision

Allows recognition and use of smart tachographs, sets technical requirements and establishes European Commission as Root Certification Authority for cryptographic materials.
