Good day! Now I will briefly tell you about the changes to the Law of Ukraine “On Burial and Funeral Affairs”.
1. **Essence of the law:** The law introduces changes to the current legislation on burial, in particular, clarifies the list of persons whose burial is carried out free of charge at the expense of the state or local budgets, and regulates the issue of reburial, especially of deceased defenders of Ukraine.
2. **Structure and main provisions:**
* **Article 14:** The list of persons whose burial is carried out free of charge with military honors at the expense of the state budget has been expanded, including Heroes of Ukraine awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Princess Olha, and “For Courage” (since 2014). It is specified that the costs of burial of combatants and persons with disabilities as a result of war are covered by the state budget, and of victims of the Revolution of Dignity – by local budgets.
* **Article 21:** The procedure for reburial of remains is detailed, especially in cases of identification of unidentified remains. It is established that the reburial of deceased defenders of Ukraine is carried out at the expense of the state once.
* **Article 25:** The right of relatives to free allocation of a place for family burial is enshrined.
3. **The most important provisions:**
* Expansion of the list of persons whose burial is carried out at the expense of the state, which is important for honoring the heroes of Ukraine.
* Regulation of the issue of reburial of deceased defenders of Ukraine at the state’s expense, which ensures proper honoring of their memory.
* Clarification of the reburial procedure, especially in cases of identification of unidentified remains, which contributes to the restoration of justice and dignified honoring of the deceased.
* Ensuring the right of relatives to family burial.
