Review of Ukrainian legislation for 23/12/2024 – 30/12/2024

Key Changes in Legislation:

Social Sphere Changes:
– When calculating the average monthly family income for social assistance, “net” salary after personal income tax and military levy deduction is now taken into account.
– 74.6 million UAH in subvention allocated to local budgets to improve hot meal quality for primary school students.
– 24.5 million UAH allocated to compensate expenses for facilities that provided free accommodation to internally displaced persons in September 2024.

Healthcare Sphere Changes:
– Frequency of mandatory medical examinations for certain employee categories changed from annual to once every 5 years.
– Updated approaches to cancer prevention and early diagnostics.
– Prostate cancer screening excluded from mandatory examination program.

Security and Defense Sphere Changes:
– Procedure approved for purchasing domestic-produced unmanned systems and electronic warfare means with possibility of advance payment up to 70%.
– Simplified document processing procedure for special purpose police officers wounded during martial law.

Science and Education Sphere Changes:
– New methodology approved for evaluating scientific institutions’ effectiveness.
– National Aviation University renamed to “State University ‘Kyiv Aviation Institute'”.
