The Decision was adopted by the EU-Common Transit Countries Joint Committee on October 21, 2024.The Decision consists of two articles. Article 1 formally invites Georgia to accede to the Convention starting from December 1, 2024. Article 2 establishes that the Decision enters into force on the date of its adoption.The key provisions of this Decision are straightforward:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Georgia is officially invited to become a party to the Common Transit Convention<\/li>\n<li>The accession will facilitate the movement of goods between Georgia and other participating countries (EU, Iceland, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, T\u00fcrkiye, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom)<\/li>\n<li>The invitation takes effect from December 1, 2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Decision expands the geographical scope of the common transit procedure, which allows goods to move more easily between the participating countries under a single transit declaration and a single guarantee.
